The last week or so I didn't take a lot of photos, my cell was either not in reach or I didn't have my camera on me so I'll just share a few things and you can imagine what it looked like. :)
Nathan got to try his hand at repairing a gas stove for the first time with my mom. It was a lot of fun watching him laying under the stove (gas was off of course) trying to reinstall the new pilot light. I never knew that it is a piece of metal that gets heated up and when it is hot enough the gas turns on and catches. Kinda fun to learn. Anyway, it was a good laugh to watch him work as my mom directed him on how to do it. Next time it goes out we decided mom gets a new stove. After all she deserves one that is not 20 years old. :)
Brendon has been helping with some of the fun projects we have been working on at my parents house and on several occasions ended up crashing before we make it back to our place for the night. It's a lot of work helping on the farm and keeping track of puppies. One of his chores when we are there is helping put the dogs in and out or the house. He's getting good at counting because of this. Also he tries so hard to whistle like the adults, he'll put his fingers in his mouth and make a "whistle" like call.
Brendon has started doing chores and has discovered the vacuum. Normally he would run and hide on the couch when we turned it on but now he wants to help. He's even made a few messes just to have us pull it out so he can vacuum. That led to a discussion on how we don't make a mess just to play with the vacuum. It only cost a cup or two of gold fish and 30 seconds of poured baby powder...
It has been hot and muggy for the last week or so. Today is the first day it's been cold enough for a sweater in a while and that just due to the wind. Anyway we discovered that Brendon has few PJs that are good for the heat, most being footy pajamas or long pants/sleeves. So it has been a let wear a tee and shorts to bed most nights. Unfortunately, due to potty training and the hot days we ran out and improvised. Daddy's snoopy tee! Brendon thought it was the best thing in the world. He would get cold in his sleep (due to the wind or fans running) and tuck his little feet in the shirt like a sleeping bag. He would even kick off the blanket he had just to pull his feet in. Now that laundry is caught up though it's hard getting him to except he has to wear Brendon's clothes and not daddy's to bed.
Brendon is getting impatient the last few days about waiting for his baby brother to come. On several occasions he has told me that his brother needs to come now. He's pointed to my bell and talked to the baby saying that they are going to play cars and trains if he hurries up. And my favorite from today is he told the baby to hurry up and come play or he'll be in big trouble with daddy.
Baby update: We are at the 19 Day mark in our count down! Crazy to think we are that close to meeting him. Doctors appointments are every week now as well as ultrasounds to keep track of how the baby is growing and how things progress as we get closer to the due date. Nothing to major to report other than baby was measuring 6lbs 13oz almost 2 weeks ago.... Now they all say the readings can be off by a pound in either direction but that's still crazy to think about! Hopefully he will decide to come sooner than later.
